ACTIVE RESEARCH TOPICS
Prof. Glumac performs research in the area of energetic materials with an emphasis on explosives and reactive materials and spectroscopic diagnostics. The reserach is funded by the U.S. Departments of Defense and Energy in support of the current and future warfighter.
General areas of research include:
- Novel warhead systems to counter biological and chemical threats under the DTRA's C-WMD mission.
- Optical diagnostics to support testing of C-WMD systems.
- Novel warhead designs for enhanced efficiency and lethality using reactive structural materials.
- Optical diagnostis of explosive systems for signature and national security applications.
- Optical emissions analysis of heavy metals in explosive systems for nuclear threat analysis and detection.
Research has been supported by many agencies including: AFRL, AFOSR, ARO, DTRA, DARPA, BMDO, DoE Sandia, LANL, and LLNL, and ONR.
